How To Make A Tiktok Sound Your Alarm

TikTok is known for its ability to make a sound go viral, it's one of the reasons the app has become so popular. Not only do musicians get exposure this way, but amateur audio editors can also have their moments of fame.

If you're a frequent user of TikTok, chances are you've become obsessed with one of these sounds at some point, and you might have wondered how you can use it outside of the app.

Well, you can turn your favorite TikTok audios into an alarm or ringtone on your iPhone, and we're going to show you how.

How to Make a TikTok Audio Into a Ringtone

With the help of a few apps, you can make any TikTok sound into a ringtone. Let's jump right into the steps…

Step 1. Acquire the Audio You Want to Use

Find a video with the sound you want to use, tap the Share icon, and select Save Video to download it to your camera roll. Before downloading, watch the video through to ensure that there's no additional, unwanted audio from the creator.

If the creator has their downloads turned off, you can always screen-record it:

  1. Tap on the audio at the bottom right, you'll be directed to a page with the sound at the top and all the videos that have used that sound underneath it.
  2. Start screen recording and play the audio by tapping on its icon.
  3. Once you end the screen recording, it'll save to your camera roll.

Another good tip is to "favorite" the sounds you like:

  1. Open the audio and tick Add to Favorites.
  2. To access your favorite audio, go to your profile, tap the flag icon, and select Sounds.
  3. This way you can store all your favorite audios and have quick access for future use.

Step 2. Convert the Video to Audio

There are two methods to convert a video to audio on iPhone: file converter apps and file converter sites.

Here's what you need to do:

  1. Download the MediaConvert app and launch it.
  2. Tap the plus (+) sign at the top left and select Photos Library.
  3. Select the video you've just saved and tap Done.
  4. In the MediaConvert library, locate the video and tap the i next to it.
  5. Go to More > Extract Audio.

In the Customization window, ensure the Format is set to mp3. Make other adjustments if you want to, and then hit Start Conversion. It'll save the converted audio file to the MediaConvert library.

If you don't want to download an app:

  1. Go to the Online Converter site.
  2. Set the Source to Upload File, tap Choose File > Photo Library, select the video you've just saved, and hit Choose.
  3. Check the Options box to enable the Audio quality customization, and select the quality you want.
  4. Tap Convert.

You'll be directed to a new window. Right under Conversion Completed, tap on Download Now and select Download from the popup prompt. It'll save the converted audio file to your browser downloads.

Step 3. Save the Audio to Your Files

It's important to get the audio into the Files app because you're going to import it from your files to Garageband.

From the MediaConvert app, locate the converted audio file in the library, tap the i next to it, select Send > Save to Files. Select the folder you want to save it to and hit Save.

In your browser, open the downloads folder illustrated by the encircled downwards arrow at the top right. Open the audio file you've just downloaded, tap the share icon at the bottom left, select Save to Files, choose a folder, and hit Save.

Since Online Converter automatically names the file, you might want to locate it in the Files app and rename it before continuing.

Step 4. Import the Audio to GarageBand

Download the GarageBand app and launch it. Then follow these steps:

  1. Hit the plus (+) sign at the top right to open a new project, scroll to Audio Recorder and open it.
  2. In the Audio Recorder Window, tap the tracks icon at the top left (looks like a stack of bricks).
  3. In the Tracks window, tap the loops icon at the top right. You'll be directed to a library.
  4. Ensure you're in the Files tab at the top, then open Browse items from the Files app at the bottom.
  5. Select the audio you've saved to your files and wait for it to appear in the library.
  6. Hold down on the file, wait for the Tracks window to reappear, and drag the file into the first track.

Step 5. Loop the Audio

The iPhone has a ringtone duration of 30 seconds, and unless your audio is longer than that, you're going to have to loop it.

In the Tracks window, tap the plus (+) sign at the right of the time bar, select Section A, set the Manual to 30, and hit Done.

Select the audio clip and tap it once to bring up a popup, select Copy. In the same track, tap on the empty space next to the clip and select Paste from the popup. Hold down on the duplicate clip and drag it next to the first clip.

Repeat this process until the 30 seconds are filled.

When done, play the audio back to ensure you're satisfied with the results, then tap the downwards arrow at the top left and select My Songs. This will save your looped audio to the GarageBand library.

Step 6. Export and Set as Ringtone

From the GarageBand home screen, locate the project you've just saved, hold down on it, select Share, and then Ringtone. Name the ringtone if you'd like and hit Export.

In the prompt popup, select Use sound as and then Standard Ringtone (you can also assign the ringtone to a specific contact from this popup).

If you want to ensure that your ringtone is successfully changed, or if you want to change it back, open the iPhone Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Ringtone, and you should see your new audio listed near the top.

How to Make a TikTok Audio Your Alarm

In order to use the TikTok sound as your alarm, you must follow the same above steps to where the audio is saved in your ringtone sounds.

Open the iPhone Clock app, and either hit the plus (+) sign at the top right to create a new alarm, or select Edit at the top left and choose an already-existing alarm. In the alarm settings, open Sound, select your audio, hit Back, and then Save.
